On New Years Eve in 2011, the lives of the people of Sunset Hills and North City St. Louis were turned upside down when a tornado passed through their community demolishing their homes and disrupting their lives. In response, Pastor Aeneas led a group of volunteers from The Spirit Church, and the NFL community including Oshiomogho Atogwe of the St. Louis Rams, and Laurence Maroney of the New England Patriots to assist Service International and St. Louis Family Church in the clean up effort in Sunset Hills. In response to the desperate need for the people of North City to protect their families during the cold weather, the people of The Spirit Church also donated blankets, heaters, and tarps for the damaged roofs.
